Diabetes LivingToday - Radio Broadcast

Saturday, May 24, 2008

A few weeks ago Adam, Mike (Weezal), and I drove to New Jersey to meet with Kitty Castellini and Dr. Joseph Fallon to be on a radio program called Diabetes Living Today. It was a great show and we had a great time!

Here are a list of all their Podcasts:

AFC's First Charity Ride

Thursday, May 08, 2008

In the summer of '05 Pat and Adam biked from their apartment in Catonsville, MD to Ocean City and then from Ocean City back to their apartment in 2 days to raise $7,000 for ADA!

It was then that we decided try to do some sort of big 'adventure' every summer to raise money for good causes.

Here is a route of that trip (out and back):

AFC competes at Leesburg's Dakers Dozen

Friday, May 02, 2008

Adventures for the Cure with friends competed at its first ever Mountain bike race in Leesburg, VA. This was an awesome event put on by Rob and Plum Groove Cycleyery.

Keith and Alex teamed up to finish 9th out of 25 teams in the 2 man division. They were rolling around 32 minutes per lap. CRAZY fast.

Adam competed in the singlespeed solo division and was doing very well(4th/5th place) till he got sick at the 9 hour time frame. He drank protein and continued to bike, which made him very sick but was ok after he got an IV. He finished 10th place.

Pat never being on a mountain bike before was entered in the singlespeed solo division and only finished a few laps before calling it quits! Good effort he just needs to learn to mountain bike!
